Now that your taste buds are watering, and you are all ready to make this recipe, let’s look at what specific ingredients you will need to make this delicious chicken salad. Please see the details below.
Here’s what you need:
Chicken. For your chicken in this recipe, a very easy way to make this is to use a rotisserie chicken that has been removed from the bone. If you do not have rotisserie chicken, you could also cook up some chicken breast and shred it after they have been completely cooked.
Shredded Cheese. We recommend using freshly grated cheddar cheese; however, you may also use store-bought shredded cheese as well if desired. We have found that cheddar or Colby Jack cheese works really well.
Celery. We recommend using celery that has been freshly washed and sliced into thin pieces.
Green Onions. Green onions make a delicious addition to your chicken salad. We recommend using green onions that have been freshly chopped.
Bacon. For this recipe, you can use freshly cooked bacon to your liking and then chopped into small pieces. Or if you would rather, you can also use bacon bits.
Seasonings. Adding salt and pepper to your chicken salad is a great place to start. If desired you could also add additional seasonings like garlic salt, and garlic powder.
Ranch. Ranch dressing is used in the sauce for the chicken salad to give it that extra zesty flavor. We recommend using a bottle of dressing for best results, rather than using ranch seasoning.
Mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is used as the base for your chicken salad dressing.
Sour Cream. Sour cream is also added into your chicken salad dressing, you can use it for that or 1/3 less fat sour cream. Either way, you will get a delicious dressing on your chicken salad.
Lemon Juice. Lemon juice helps to enhance the overall flavor. Although this ingredient is not required, we highly recommend including it.
