What Brand of Pop Should I Use?

Any kind of lemon lime pop will work for the flavored sherbet. The brand doesn’t matter. Carbonated drinks such as Sprite, 7Up, Slice, Sierra Mist or store brand sodas that are lemon lime flavored will all work well.

If you’re using another flavor of Kool-Aid to make your sherbet, consider choosing a coordinating flavor of pop. For example, if you’re making orange Kool-Aid sherbet, consider using Orange Crush or Orange Fanta for the carbonated beverage.

How To Serve Lemon Lime Kool-Aid Sherbet?

Once frozen, the sherbet can be served just like any other ice cream or sherbet. It will have a similar consistency and hardness to what you’re used to buying in the store, should be scoopable, and can be eaten in an ice cream cone or from a bowl with a spoon. Kool-Aid sherbet can also be enjoyed and used in punch drinks or to make a float.

Where Can I Buy Lemon Lime Kool-Aid?

That is a good question. It can sometimes be a challenge to find lemon lime Kool-Aid. Or at least I found that to be true in my search. I shopped for it at probably 4 local grocery stores and was unsuccessful in finding it. All I wanted was one packet, and nothing. I was, however, able to find a packet of 4 online for not too much. And I ordered it.

Remember, the flavor of your sherbet does not have to be lemon lime. This recipe can be altered very easily simply by choosing another flavor of Kool-Aid and then choosing a corresponding flavor of pop.

Can I Make Lemon Lime Kool-Aid Sherbet In Advance?

Yes. Kool-Aid Sherbet can be made in advance. In fact making it at least the night before is the best since you’ll want to allow for time for it to freeze.  I recommend keeping it in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How To Store Lemon Lime Kool-Aid Sherbet

Lemon Lime Kool-Aid Sherbet can be stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. It is best when fresh and has a potential of becoming crystalized over time. To get rid of the crystals, simply spoon it into the bowl of an electric mixer and mix well. Return it to the freezer until frozen.

Other Flavor Variations

This sherbet is so versatile it is perfect for your next party. You can mix and match party colors and flavors. In essence it’s almost as if the sky’s the limit.

Kool-Aid sherbet can be made in any flavor of Kool-Aid available. Current flavors include Ice Blue Raspberry Lemonade, Tropical Punch, Strawberry, Green Apple, Strawberry Kiwi, Peach Mango, Cherry Limeade, Grape, Orange, Cherry and Lemonade.  Just choose a coordinating flavor of soda and add the sweetened condensed milk. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the refreshing treat!
