Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

Instructions:
Preheat your gas grill to high. Make sure the grill has recently been cleaned with a grill brush. The grate of the grill should be well oiled so that the mushrooms will not stick to it. This can be done by dabbing the oil on a paper towel and rubbing the oil onto the grate using tongs. Caution should be used because the oil is flammable.

Rinse mushrooms gently under water and dab them with a paper towel. In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, garlic, basil, salt and pepper. Using a basting brush, brush the mushroom tops lightly with the oil mixture.

After the grill is hot, put the mushroom caps, top side down, over the high heat. Then, brush the bottoms with the oil mixture. Grill until the mushrooms are tender, 5 minutes. Turn the mushrooms and cook just 2 minutes on the bottom.
