Ingredients

Cookie Layer

8 Tbsp soft butter
2 large eggs
¾ cup brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
¾ tsp salt
1/3 tsp baking powder

½ Tbsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup chocolate chips

½ cup butter
½ cup vegetable oil
4 eggs

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F

Cookie Layer:

In a mixing bowl, combine butter, eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla extract, and all-purpose flour. When all ingredients are added into the mixing bowl, stir until the cookie batter begins to pull together. Add chocolate chips, then stir just to combine. Set aside.

Brownie Layer:

Next, in a fresh mixing bowl combine butter, vegetable oil, eggs, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, salt, baking powder, and all-purpose flour. Once all ingredients are added into the mixing bowl, stir to combine. When the batter is mixed, add chocolate chips. Stir only until combined.

To Finish:

Now that both batters are made, take your cake pan and spray it with cooking spray. Next, roll raw cookie dough into balls and place randomly on the bottom of your cake pan.

Please note, depending on how much chocolate chip cookie dough you include you may have leftovers. You may bake these separately once formed into balls at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes. 

Please also note, that a 9-inch pan may also be used for these brownies if you desire a thicker brownie. However, please know that these brownies will need to be baked much longer because they are so thick.

During the testing of this recipe, I encountered that some of my cookies sank into the brownies while they were baking. If this happens to you, you may want to remove your bars from the oven and add more chocolate chip cookies to the top.
