Before we jump into the detailed recipe, let’s take a look at what equipment you might want to have on hand in order to make this easy Christmas cookie fudge recipe.

Recommended Equipment

Square Pan. This recipe makes an 8 x 8 square baking pan worth of fudge. It works best if you have an 8 x 8 cake pan on hand.

Parchment Paper. I would also recommend that you have some parchment paper on hand, not wax paper. You can use parchment paper to line the bottom of your square pan so that the fudge can be easily removed after it has been set.

How Many Minutes of Prep Time are Needed?

For this recipe, it can be ready in just a few minutes. From start to finish, it will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to completely make the fudge. Then after that, it just has to set.

Ingredient List For Christmas Sugar Cookie Fudge

White Chocolate Chips. One of the primary ingredients that you will need is white chocolate chips. You don’t need to have any kind of special chocolate, just your favorite brand of white chocolate chips will do the trick.

You will need a few cups of white chocolate chips in order to make an 8 x 8 pan. If you want to double the recipe you can make a 9 x 13 pan.

Sugar Cookie Mix. You can pick up your favorite brand of sugar cookie mix from the grocery store. This is just the box mix to make sugar cookies.

It does not need to be any kind of refrigerated sugar cookie dough or pre-made sugar cookies; you simply want to look for the box of sugar cookie mix to add to your fudge.

Sweetened Condensed Milk. Another key ingredient for this fudge recipe is sweetened condensed milk. You can find sweetened condensed milk in a can in the aisle for baking at your grocery store.

Keep in mind to check that it is sweetened condensed milk and not evaporated milk.

Christmas Sprinkles. Adding festive sprinkles on top of the fudge is a nice touch, to make your Christmas cookie fudge extra Christmasy. You can add whatever kind of sprinkles you enjoy the best, but it’s fun to make them holiday-themed.

How to Make Christmas Cookie Fudge

First, we are going to prepare the pan. Take an 8 x 8 pan, then cut a sheet of parchment paper to fit inside of the pan. You will want to have a bit of parchment hanging over two of the edges so that you can pick the parchment paper up out of the pan when the fudge is finished.

Next, add the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk into a microwave-safe container.

Microwave the mixture for 30 seconds at a time, then remove it from the microwave and stir, place back into the microwave and continue microwaving for another 30 seconds.

Repeat the process until the white chocolate chips are completely melted. Please note that the time it takes for the white chocolate chips to melt will vary depending on your specific microwave.

After that the white chocolate chips have completely melted, and are mixed with the sweetened condensed milk, add the package of sugar cookie mix, then stir thoroughly.

Pour the Christmas cookie fudge mixture into your prepared pan and use a spatula to smooth out the fudge. Add sprinkles on top of the sugar cookie fudge as desired. Then refrigerate until the fudge is set. This will take between one and two hours for the fudge to completely set.

Remove the fudge from the fridge, then use the parchment paper to remove the set fudge from the 8 x 8 pan.

Take a sharp knife and cut the fudge into pieces. Place the fudge pieces on a serving tray platter, then enjoy the delicious sugar cookie flavor of fudge!

Storage for Christmas Cookie Fudge

At Room Temperature. Your Christmas cookie fudge should be left at room temperature for no longer than necessary. Fudge is going to be the best when it is chilled in the refrigerator, so if it is not being eaten it should be stored in the fridge.

However, as far as food safety goes, the Christmas cookie fudge should be left at room temperature for no more than two hours before it goes bad and must be thrown away.

In the Fridge. For the best results, your Christmas cookie fudge should be kept in the fridge unless it is being served. The fudge can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 to 7 days for the best results. In some cases, your fudge may last even longer.

How to Store in the Fridge

The best way to store your Christmas cookie fudge is to keep it in the fridge. When stored in the fridge it is best to seal it in an airtight container.

You can also wrap it securely in plastic wrap, or aluminum foil if you are in a pinch. Just make sure it is secured around the fudge so that it doesn’t dry out.

Tips and Tricks

Use a Double Boiler. An alternative method for making the fudge, rather than microwaving the white chocolate chips, is to use a double boiler on your stovetop to melt the chocolate chips. Feel free to choose whichever method works best for you!

Should you use cooking spray?

When you use parchment paper to line the bottom of your pan, there is no need to use cooking spray, or nonstick spray.

Variations

This Christmas cookie fudge is primarily made with white chocolate chips. However, you can make a version of this recipe as classic chocolate fudge using milk chocolate chips rather than white chocolate chips. Feel free to mix things up by changing the type of chocolate chips used, if you wish.
