Papaya Tart

Papayas are known for their beautiful golden color in addition to their silk like texture. Try this delicious Papaya Tart, it is very good. They are not commonly used when it comes to pies and tarts, but they make a delicious dessert! Try this recipe and let us know what you think. 

This recipe serves between 2 to 4

You Will Need:

Puff pastry
Papayas
Limes juice 
Milk
Dark brown sugar
Whipping cream
Powdered sugar
Vanilla

How To:

Preheat oven to 400F degrees.

Spray baking dish with cooking spray. Place the puff pastry into the baking dish. Cut off the extra puff pastry. Using a fork, cut some pin holes into the crust. Brush the crust with some milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 5 minutes and then let cool.

Remove the seeds from the papaya and cut the papaya into small squares. In a bowl, combine papaya with lime juice and mix together, so that the fruit is coated in juice. Place papaya into the baked crust. Sprinkle with sugar (about two tablespoons worth).

Place the tart into the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until the sugar has caramelized.

Remove from the oven and let cool.

In a mixing bowl, whip the whipping cream on high until lit becomes firm, but don’t let it turn into butter. Gently mix  vanilla and powdered sugar. Scoop into piping bag and add swirls around the outer edge of the cool tart.
