Making this recipe will allow you to have your very own apple pie to enjoy, that tastes amazing, and is quite easy to make.

As fall settles in here in the northern states, I love turning my attention to baking new things. I am so excited to share this recipe with you today. This is something that I enjoyed experimenting with this past weekend, and it turned out really great.

I don’t know about you, but thinking of fall, brings up images of apple orchards and pumpkins. My favorites are apples and warm apple cider. This recipe is one that I really like because it features apples!

This recipe is great because it does not require a ton of work, but still tastes wonderful. To make this you will need the following ingredients.

Apple Dumplings ingredients

You Will Need

2 whole apples, cored
brown sugar
granulated sugar
cinnamon
all-purpose flour
butter
water
salt

How To Make

The process to make this recipe is really quite simple. Simply prepare the pie crust, and roll it out. Then take your whole apple, and remove the core from the center, leaving a large hole. Line a little baking dish with your pie crust, I like to use ramekins, but anything will work.

Once your dish is lined with your crust, add your whole apple, and fill the center with butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and a little flour.

Cover your apple with the pie crust, and brush it with milk then sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375F for about 20-30 minutes, or until your apple is completely baked. Then it is time to remove it and enjoy!

These little pies, made with a whole apple are similar to apple dumplings. The main difference is that apple dumplings are typically baked in a sauce, making them a bit mushy.
