Garden Side Salad
Chick-fil-A’s side salad is a lovely garden salad that is made with fresh greens, cheese, as well as a few additional toppings. Their garden salad is very light and makes you think of springtime. Let’s turn our attention to what ingredients are needed to make this salad at home.
Greens. Chick-fil-A side salad is made using a variety of greens. If you wish to make your homemade salad very similar to the restaurant, you will want to include Romaine lettuce, green cabbage, red leaf lettuce, as well as green leaf lettuce. This lettuce combination is mixed into a lovely springy bed of lettuce to form the basis of your salad.
Vegetables. Although there are a few toppings included in Chick-fil-A side salad, some of the vegetables that are included consist of grape tomatoes, and red bell peppers. When you are making the salad at home, adding things such as avocados, or carrots makes a delicious salad.
Cheese. There are two types of cheese served on Chick-fil-A’s side salad. Chick-fil-A features Monterey Jack Cheddar Cheese as well as Cheddar cheese. These cheeses are shredded and sprinkled throughout the salad. Although these cheeses are great and taste delicious in the salad if you wish you could add additional cheeses such as Coby Jack, or even blue cheese.
Topping. There are no exact toppings that come on Chick-fil-A’s side salad. When you make it at home, you can add as many toppings as you wish. Some great additions include nuts or sunflower seeds. You could also try adding additional vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, or cucumbers.

How to Make
Once you have determined everything that you want to include in your copycat Chick-fil-A side salad, it is just a matter of putting it together. The process of making your side salad at home it’s very easy. Please see our recipebelow for details.
3 cups Romaine lettuce
1 cup green cabbage
1 ½ cup red leaf lettuce
1 ½ cup green leaf lettuce
1 pint grape tomato
1 cup crispy red bell peppers
½ cup Monterey Jack Cheddar Cheese
½ cup Cheddar cheese
To make your salad, begin by washing all your lettuce, cabbage, and tomatoes. Be sure to dry it thoroughly.
Chop your Romaine lettuce, green cabbage, red and green leaf lettuce. Then combine in a salad bowl.
Next, add your grape tomatoes, and crispy red bell peppers to the top. Sprinkle with Monterey Jack cheddar cheese, and cheddar cheese. Add any additional toppings you wish before serving. Serve and enjoy!
Crispy Red Bell Peppers From Scratch
I often have a very difficult time finding the crispy red bell peppers in a store near me. So, I have ended up making them on my own. To do this, you will need 2 red bell peppers. ½ cup all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon garlic powder, a pinch of paprika, a pinch of black pepper, ½ cup milk, and one medium egg, along with oil for frying.
Bring your oil to 360°F. While your oil is heating, chop the red bell peppers. Then in a mixing bowl, combine your dry ingredients. In a separate mixing bowl, combine your wet ingredients. Dip your peppers first into the dry ingredients, then into the wet ingredients, before dipping a final time into the dry. Drop carefully into your hot oil and cook until they begin to turn golden brown.
Keep a close eye on your oil temperature so that it does not reach the smoke point and burst into flames. Remove your cooked peppers from the cooking oil and allow the grease to drain into a paper towel.
Buttermilk Dill Ranch Dressing From Scratch
It is fun to make your own dressing from scratch. A delicious recipe that I often enjoy is made by combining ½ cup sour cream, ¼ cup buttermilk, ½ teaspoon lemon juice, ½ teaspoon dried chives, ¾ teaspoon dried dill, ½ teaspoon dried parsley, ¼ teaspoon onion powder, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper. Whisk all the ingredients together until combined, then pour on top of your salad to enjoy.
