Easiest Way to Prepare Homemade Bratwurst Noodle Casserole

There are several different ways you can prepare this homemade bratwurst noodle casserole. However, my favorite is to cook each portion individually and then combine it all together. If desired you can bake the entire thing and melt some cheese on top. Or you can simply serve it once everything is combined.

Super Simple Directions:

The process of making this bratwurst noodle casserole is quite simple. The entire dish is basically a mixture of cooking your meat, boiling your noodles, and then creating your sauce. Once each portion is created it’s simply a matter of combining it. Let’s look at some step-by-step instructions on how to make this casserole.

Steps to make Bratwurst Noodle Casserole:

Start off by cooking your meat in a skillet. You will want to cook your bacon and bratwurst in a skillet until they are browned to your desired liking. Once done cooking, drain the grease, then crush the bacon, and slice the bratwurst. Brown the bratwurst slices on both sides.

Next, place a pan of water on the stovetop with your noodles in it along with a tablespoon of olive oil. Add a dash of salt to the water and bring to a boil. Boil until your noodles are al dente. Drain the liquid.

In a saucepan, drizzle with olive oil, then add minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté until your onions begin to brown. Next, add diced tomatoes, a block of cream cheese, and fresh basil leaves. Warm stirring often, until your cream cheese is melted.

Once your sauce is made, it is time to combine your dish. Into your casserole dish add pasta noodles, crushed bacon, and bratwurst. Top with your sauce then stir to combine. If desired sprinkle cheese on top, then bake until cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy!

Easy Bratwurst Pasta Recipe

There are four main portions of this recipe. These portions include your cheese sauce, your beer brats, followed by your seasoning, and finally the cooking technique for each one. Let’s take a closer look at each of these categories.

Cheese: Cheese sauce can be made with multiple ingredients. Our recipe features cheese sauce made from cream cheese and diced tomatoes. However, it may also be made using a sour cream sauce recipe, or even a melted white cheese such as white queso. Our favorite result comes from using cream cheese and gives you a simple and delicious dish and flavor.

Beer: There are many kinds of brats, or sausages you can use to make this recipe. Our favorite way to make this is two years beer brats to make bratwurst noodle casserole. However, feel free to mix things up and see what your favorite is.

Seasoning: There are all kinds of seasonings you can use to flavor this dish. If you enjoy more spicy aspects, you might enjoy adding some hot seasonings such as red pepper flakes or coriander to this dish. Some of our favorite seasonings to use include garlic powder, garlic salt, Italian seasoning blend, seasoning salt, pepper, and other fresh seasonings such as fresh basil, and fresh parsley.

Cooking: Our favorite way to prepare the stage is to make each section of it separately, then mix it together. We have found this provides the best flavor and outcome for the recipe. However, you may choose to make it all by cooking it all together in the oven at once.

If you choose to bake it together in the oven, please note you will need to add additional liquid so that the pasta noodles can cook appropriately. Now let’s take a look at the exact bratwurst noodle casserole recipe we like using the recipe given below.

Tips from the Kitchen

Tip 1: Anytime you are dealing with pasta, it is important to cook it so that it is just done. You don’t want to undercook it or cook it for too long. A great way to tell if your pasta is done is to take a bite out of a piece to see if there is any crunch left to it. If it tastes good to you, then it’s going to be done.

Tip 2: Once this recipe is combined, you can bake it in the oven if you wish. Or you can simply serve it fresh once it is all mixed up. The choice is up to you how you serve it. Both ways taste good.
