FAQs

Below are frequently asked questions relating to Cheesecake Oreo Cubes.

Do I need to scrape out the center of the Oreos before crushing them for the crust?

No, there’s no need to remove the frosting in the Oreos before crushing them for the crust. The sweetness of the frosting will incorporate into the crust itself, which is why we don’t recommend adding sugar into the crust.

I don’t have a 7×5 inch dish. What else can I use?

You can use an 8×8 square dish for this recipe and it will be fine. You can also make them in a cupcake or mini cupcake pan, as well as a 8 or 9 in round cake pan.

How Can I Get Clean Cuts When Cutting the Cheesecake into Bites?

The best way to get clean cuts when cutting your cheesecake into cubes is to make sure it is completely frozen before cutting it. You can also line your pan with parchment paper and be sure to use a long butcher style knife, wiping the blade after each cut. This will allow your cuts to stay nice and crisp, rather than becoming blobby.

How Should I Store These Cheesecake Bites?

Your cheesecake Oreo cubes should be kept in a zipped freezer bag in the freezer. You do not need to thaw them before serving them unless you prefer to. They are intended to be frozen snack sized bites of Oreo cheesecake.

Can I Double This Recipe?

Yes, you can double this recipe if desired.  You can also triple it or make however many batches you wish. This stuff is delicious, and your family and friends will think so too!

Philadelphia Oreo Cheesecake Bites Make Snacking Easy

Or maybe they make snacking too easy.  That all depends on your discipline to withhold from consuming them too much. But if you’re looking for an easy to make snack that allows you to easily consume over time, this might be a great fit. The ability to store these in the freezer and then eat them directly from the freezer both extends their storing time as well as makes them convenient to grab and go.

Ingredient Notes

There are a few items that can be substituted or exchanged based on product availability or your dietary restrictions.

1. Oreo cookies can be traded out for lesser expensive store brand chocolate cookies.  They have the same taste, look and feel and no one will know the difference unless you tell them.

2. You can use 1/3 less fat, low fat, or fat free cream cheese in place of the real deal if preferred.  The full fat cream cheese will create the creamiest cheesecake.

How To Make Oreo Cheesecake Bites

You can make Oreo cheesecake bites by using an Oreo cookie crumb crust, spread a layer of no bake cheesecake and then topping it with another layer of Oreo cookie crumb crust. The key is to place this in the freezer and let it freeze thoroughly before attempting to cut it into cubes. Let’s get started!

Ingredients

Oreo Layers
2.5 cups ground Oreo cookies
½ cup butter

Cheesecake Layer
2 boxes of cream cheese (8 oz. each)
2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup powdered sugar
¾ cup heavy cream

Directions

Oreo Crust:
1. Crush the Oreos using your food processor until they reach a fine crumb. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place them in a zipped storage bag and smash them with a meat grinder or use a rolling pin to crush them.

2. Transfer Oreos to a mixing bowl. Melt the butter and whisk the Oreo crumbs and butter together until thoroughly mixed. We are not adding sugar to the crust because the crust is perfect as is. But if you prefer a sweeter crust, feel free to add some granulated sugar.

3. Press half the Oreo mixture into the bottom of a 8×8” pan. Pack into the bottom of the pan with the palms of your hands until it is as tight as possible. Set crust aside.

No-Bake Cheesecake Filling:
1. Using an electric mixer, combine room temperature cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla until smooth.

2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream on high until stiff peaks begin to form. Right before stiff peaks form, add powdered sugar.

3. Reduce speed and fold cream cheese mixture in with the whipped cream mixture.

4. Gently spread the cream cheese layer over the Oreo crust. Top with a layer of Oreo crumbs

Assembly:
1. Allow the cheesecake to cool in the freezer for 1 hour, until completely frozen.

2. Remove from the freezer and cut the cheesecake into cubes.

3. Store in a zipped freezer bag for freshness and easy access one bite at a time. Serve and enjoy!
