Dominos Garlic Parmesan Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

Butter. We recommend including salted butter that has been melted for added creaminess. You may substitute butter for unsalted butter, although it will decrease the overall saltiness in the sauce flavor.

Mayonnaise. Adding regular mayonnaise to the sauce gives it delicious creaminess and helps to thicken the sauce.

Parmesan cheese. For the best overall taste, we recommend adding grated Parmesan cheese to get the delicious Parmesan flavor.

Garlic. Although you can use various types of garlic, we recommend that you use minced garlic for the best flavor. You may choose to use freshly minced garlic or use the minced garlic that comes in a jar from the grocery store. If you are unable to use minced garlic, you can substitute it for garlic powder.

Italian Seasoning. Italian seasoning is recommended to be added to the sauce to help enhance the overall flavor. You can simply use dried Italian seasoning from your grocery store.

Black Pepper. A little bit of freshly ground black pepper is recommended to be added to the sauce, for additional flavor.

How to Store Garlic Parmesan Sauce in a Fridge. To keep the copycat recipe longer, we recommend storing it in the refrigerator. To store it in the fridge, you will first want to transfer it to airtight container or steal it in a plastic storage bag. Then place in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days.

How to Store Garlic Parmesan Sauce in a Freezer. Because this sauce contains mayonnaise, we do not recommend that it be frozen. When mayonnaise goes through the freezing and then thawing process, it tends to separate and not be nearly as good as it was originally.

Ingredient Substitution

Our suggested recipe includes mayonnaise as the base of the sauce. However, if you wish to mix things up you may substitute the mayonnaise for a roux. This will create a sauce, which is similar to an alfredo sauce.

To do this you will begin by melting 4 Tbsp butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add 2 Tbsp garlic and either 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or cornstarch to the mixture. Stir for 1 minute, until it begins to thicken.

Once thick, add 1 ½ cups heavy cream and whisk over medium heat until the sauce is thick.

As the sauce thickens, whisk in 1 cup parmesan cheese, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and ½ tsp black pepper. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before adding to your dish.

Cooking Tips

Make Ahead. It is our opinion the sauce tastes the best when it is made in advance. By making the sauce in advance and allowing it to chill for a few hours in the fridge, it allows the flavors to melt together, making your sauce taste even better.

Amazing Pizza Sauce. Our favorite way to use this garlic Parmesan sauce is to use it as a replacement for red sauce when making pizza.

Variations

Add some veggies. If you wish to use the sauce in other ways besides on top of pizza, a great alternative use for it is as a vegetable dip.

Make it spicy. You can add a little heat to this recipe simply by including onions, and/or a pinch of red pepper flakes. Each of these will provide a bit of heat to the sauce.

Add some cheese. We recommend including grated Parmesan cheese in this delicious garlic Parmesan sauce. When you use it as a pizza topping, add some more mozzarella cheese to the top, for an amazing pizza.
