Alternative Recipe:
Begin by melting 4 Tbsp butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Once melted, add 2 Tbsp garlic and either 1/4 cup all-purpose flour or cornstarch to the mixture. Stir for 1 minute, until it begins to thicken. Once thick, add 1 ½ cups heavy cream and whisk over medium heat until the sauce is thick. As the sauce thickens, whisk in 1 cup parmesan cheese, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, and ½ tsp black pepper. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before adding to your dish.
