Soft tortillas. We recommend using large flour tortillas for this recipe, but you can use any kind of soft tortilla that you prefer. The key is that it is large and soft, otherwise, it can be any type of soft tortilla you like.
Chicken. You will also want to use cooked chicken to make these quesadillas. You can use chicken breast, buy pre-cooked chicken, or buy a rotisserie chicken for easy and quick preparation.
You can also cook your own chicken but be sure that it reaches the internal temperature of 165°F before removing it from the heat.
Shredded cheese. You can use your favorite type of shredded cheese to make these quesadillas. We enjoy using a mixture of cheddar and mozzarella for the best overall flavor and texture but you can use your favorite types of shredded cheese.
Bacon. Our preference is to make our own bacon so that it is freshly cooked and prepared for these quesadillas. However, you could also choose to use bacon bits, or purchase pre-cooked bacon if you prefer.
If you are cooking your own bacon, there are several different ways you can prepare it including in a skillet, on the grill, or baking it on a cookie sheet in the oven until it is done to your liking.
Ranch. Ranch dressing is included inside these quesadillas to add the lovely ranch flavoring. However, in addition to the ranch dressing, we recommend including ranch seasoning with the chicken for an overall delicious ranch flavor.
Spices. To make these quesadillas authentic, chili spices should be added. This can include just your basic chili powder sprinkled inside of your quesadilla.
Pico de gallo. Typically, these quesadillas are served alongside pico de gallo for added flavor for the quesadillas.
Sour cream. Sour cream is also served alongside these quesadillas for a dipping sauce. This is optional and not required, however, we do recommend it as they taste delicious dipped in sour cream.
Ancho-chile ranch. Ancho-chile ranch is also served alongside these prepared quesadillas as a dipping sauce.
You can simply buy this ranch dressing from your local grocery store, or you can spice up your average ranch dressing by adding some ancho chili powder and smoked paprika, then mix it together alongside the quesadillas.
How to Make Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas Recipe
1. Cook Chicken And Bacon
To begin making our delicious bacon ranch chicken quesadilla Chili’s copycat recipe, you want to first start by cooking the chicken and bacon.
Our favorite way to prepare the bacon is to place it onto a cookie sheet with an edge and bake it in the oven at 400°F for approximately 10 minutes or until it is as crispy as you prefer. Chop the bacon into bite-size pieces.
Then you can cook the chicken. You can prepare the chicken in a skillet on your stovetop, boil it in a pan on your stovetop, grill the chicken, smoke the chicken, or bake the chicken in the oven.
Simply cook the chicken until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, then remove the chicken and either shred it or cut it into small pieces.
Gather all of the other ingredients so that you can assemble the quesadillas.
2. Brush Up Tortilla With Ranch
When the meat is fully cooked, set it aside and start to prepare the tortillas. Take a large flat skillet and place it over medium heat. Brush the bottom of the pan with oil, and add your tortilla.
3. Fill Them Up To Make Quesadillas
Now, add your fillings to the tortilla including shredded cheese, chopped bacon, chicken, ranch dressing, ranch powder, chili powder, and any other seasonings you desire.
Add the top layer of tortilla, and melt over medium heat, gently pressing the top of the quesadilla with a spatula.
When the bottom of your quesadilla is light gold in color and has started to get crispy, carefully pick up your quesadilla, brush the pan with oil and gently flip the quesadilla over. Replace it back into the skillet and continue cooking over medium heat until the bottom of the quesadilla is golden.
4. Cut, Serve, Eat
When the quesadilla is nice and crispy, and golden on both sides, remove the quesadilla from the skillet. Allow to rest for a few minutes then use a pizza cutter to slice the quesadilla in two slices.
Add to the serving dish and serve alongside your prepared pico de gallo, sour cream, and ancho-chile ranch if desired. Now, serve and enjoy eating this delicious copycat recipe for Chili’s bacon ranch chicken quesadillas!
Tips for Making Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas (Chili’s Copycat)
Pre-cook the meat. We recommend having all of the ingredients prepared and ready to go when you start to make and assemble these quesadillas. The process will go much more smoothly when everything is ready to go.
Seasonings. Feel free to mix up the seasonings as desired. We have recommended using ranch seasoning and chili powder, but you can add more if desired. Things like paprika and red pepper flakes will get your quesadilla and added spicy kick.
Storage and Reheating
Room Temperature. These quesadillas should not be left at room temperature any longer than two hours after they have been kept. If they are left at room temperature for any more than two hours they should be thrown away.
Refrigerator. Any leftover quesadillas should be stored in an airtight container or sealed in a plastic storage bag and placed in the fridge.
Quesadillas that are stored properly may last between three and four days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Reheating. If desired, you can reheat quesadillas in a variety of ways. Our favorite is to reheat slices of the quesadilla in a single layer in the air fryer at 350°F for a few minutes and just until warmed up.
You could also reheat quesadillas in a skillet on the stovetop over medium heat, or in the oven at 350°F. We do not recommend reheating these quesadillas in the microwave as they are likely to become very mushy using this method.
What to Serve with Quesadillas
