Our 3-ingredient homemade Icee Juice recipe is really easy to make and is perfect for a hot summer day when you’re ready for a sweet, refreshing drink. You can make any or all of your favorite flavors in just a matter of a few minutes so that you can kick back and enjoy.
Blender or Icee Machine
Sure, you can buy authentic Icee syrup at some local grocery stores or online stores. But in our opinion, it can be overrated. The price for the name brand Icee syrup can be listed at 5 dollars on up per bottle. And it’s chock full of sugar. If you want to save a few bucks and still create a delicious Icee, we’ll show you how.
I Scream ICEE Syrup 2-Pack, Blue Raspberry & Cherry Flavors, Two 16.9oz Bottles
Icee syrup comes in a variety of flavors and a variety of packages. You can buy single bottles of syrup, two packs, four packs, and even 12 packs. Flavors include blue raspberry, cherry, cola, and purple grape.
In making your homemade Icee Juice you can replicate the same flavors by using that same flavor of Kool-aid. Or if you want to try another flavor, just use the desired flavor of Kool-aid. In our opinion that’s part of the beauty of making them homemade. You can custom make them and even make them sugar free if desired.

Icee Syrup Mix Set

Icee Slush Fruit Punch Flavored
When we were kids, I remember Fruit Punch being one of our favorite flavors. If you have children in your life, it’s likely one of their favorite flavors too. Just ask them to find out.
To make a fruit punch Icee, use your favorite brand of Fruit Punch powdered drink mix and follow our recipe instructions below.
Real Homemade Icee
Our recipe for a real homemade Icee is one that comes out like a slushie, rather than a snow cone. In our opinion a snow cone is mostly ice, with a little bit of syrup poured over the top.
But an Icee and a slushie are very similar in consistency. We would describe it as more like a sweet drink that has a high density of crushed ice and one that can be enjoyed through a straw.
Make Your Own Snow Cone and Slushie Syrup
Perhaps you’d like to make your own snow cone and slushie syrup to have on hand for summertime parties or for anytime enjoyment. You can easily make and store your own and then simply add it to the crushed ice when you’re ready.
To make your own snow cone and slushie syrup you’ll need Kool-Aid unsweetened flavor packets, water and sugar. You’ll bring 1 ½ cups of water and 1 ½ cups of sugar to a boil until the sugar is dissolved and suspended.
Remove from the heat and stir in Kool-Aid packet until it’s dissolved. When you’re ready to use it, you can mix 2 cups of ice in the blender along with 1/3 cup water and 1 cup of sugar. Blend until the ice is crushed and the slushie is nice and smooth in consistency.
Frozen Lemonade or Fruit Juice Slushies
Frozen lemonade is a favorite beverage in our family during the summertime, or even year round. You can either use a powdered lemonade mix like CountryTime lemonade or you can also use a frozen lemonade concentrate found in your grocery store’s freezer section.
How to Make a Slushie | Simple 5-minute SLUSHY Recipes!
There are several ways you can easily make a slushy at home. You can make them with a blender, without a blender, or by using a slushy machine. We go through each one and give a good explanation.
How to Make a Slushie with a Blender
If you’re making a slushie with a blender, you’ll want to use a heavy-duty blender. Blending ice cubes until they’re smooth can be hard work on a blender. We recommend pulsating the blender with short, quick punches in order to achieve smooth ice.
Make a Slushy in a Blender
If you have access to a blender, you might like to make your slushy in a blender. But there are other ways too. Making a slushy in a blender works well if you have a good, heavy duty blender. But you might prefer to make an instant slushy without a blender too.
How to Make an Instant Slushie
To make an instant slushie without a blender, you’ll need 3 cups of ice, table salt, two zipped gallon sized freezer bags, and your favorite drink.
Making Instant Slushies
Making instant slushies without a blender and without a slushie machine can be a lot of fun and it’s perfectly safe for kids to make them.
To begin, place 3 cups of ice inside a zipped gallon bag and add about ½ cup of table salt. This will make the ice begin to melt and will make it extremely cold at the same time.
The second step is to pour your favorite drink into the second zipped freezer bag and carefully zip it shut so that no leaks occur. Place this bag inside of the other bag that has the ice and salt. Let it sit until the drink mixture begins to crystalize and form ice.
Remove your slushie from the bag and pour it into a cup. Serve and enjoy.

Icee Freeze Squeeze Up Variety, Frozen
You might be familiar with the Icee Freeze Squeeze frozen treats. They’re kind of like a popsicle and they’re kind of like a slushie combined. Kids think they’re great! You can make them homemade by using our Icee Juice recipe below and placing them in the freezer for a few hours.
Be sure to use a popsicle mold or pour the mixture into individual serving sizes in small paper cups or yogurt cups so that they’ll be perfectly manageable when you’re ready to serve them.
How to Make a Slushie With a Slushie Machine
To make a slushie with a slushie machine will depend on the brand of the machine and how it functions. The best thing to do is to read through the instruction book or owner’s manual that was included when you purchased the machine and learn everything that you can before getting started.
Making a Slushie With a Slushie Machine
The general idea of making a slushie with a slushie machine is to read the machine’s instructions, fill up the slushy machine, turn on the machine, allow it to mix until the desired consistency is reached, and finally dispense the slushie into a cup to be enjoyed.
3 Ingredient Homemade Snow Cone Syrup
Making your own 3 ingredient homemade snow cone syrup is really quite similar to making homemade slushie syrup. Just use 1 packet of no sugar added packet of Kool-Aid, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup water.
Create a simple syrup suspension by boiling the water and the sugar together and stirring until the sugar is dissolved. The remove it from the heat and stir the Kool-Aid until it’s well dissolved.
Snow cone syrup and slushie syrup can both be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container or jar with lid.
How to Make A Homemade Icee Juice
