How To Make Left Over French Fry Breakfast

To make leftover French fry breakfast casserole, you will start off by warming up your French fries. If you are using frozen fries, bake according to the instructions on your package, otherwise bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes just to warm the fries through.

In a mixing bowl combine eggs, half-and-half, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and any additional seasonings you wish. Whisk together.

Add your egg mixture to your prepared French fries, then add any cooked meat, such as sausage, bacon bits, ground chuck, ground turkey, or ground pork.

Next, add any ingredients you wish such as diced tomato, diced onions, or shredded cheese. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven, make sure your eggs are mostly cooked through, and then top with additional cheese, bake again for 10 minutes, or until the cheese begins to melt and turn golden brown around the edges. Remove from the oven, serve, and enjoy.

How Many Eggs To Use

The number of eggs to use when making your French fry breakfast casserole is typically the trickiest part of making this recipe. For an 8 x 8 pan, when I have enough French fries to cover the bottom of the pan, I typically use six eggs mixed with half-and-half. This gives me just enough eggs to cover my French fries. However, if you do not have enough eggs to cover the fries, you will want to add more.

Serving Suggestions

Conserve French fry breakfast casserole anyway you wish. However, a few of our serving suggestions include adding a dollop of sour cream to the top of your piece of breakfast casserole. You can also serve this French fry breakfast casserole with a few slices of toast if you wish. French fry breakfast casserole is a meal in and of itself and does not need a lot added to it.

The best potatoes for the best fries

If you are making your French fries from scratch, using russet potatoes will make the best homemade French fries. Using premade French fries will give you the best overall taste and result for making French fry breakfast casserole, plus it is much easier.
