How the Quiches are Made

The process of making mini quiche is quite simple. To start off, you’ll want to begin making your crust. To make your crust, we recommend using a food processor if available. If not, you can make it using a pastry cutter.

To make a crust, add all-purpose flour, and salt, mix together. Then, cut very cold butter into small cubes, and add it to your flour mixture. If using a pastry cutter, cut your butter into the flour mixture until only pea sized chunks remain.

If using a food processor, pulse your mixture until only approximately pea size chunks remain. Add your super cold water to the mixture and mix just until your dough begins to form.

Roll your dough out onto a lightly flowered surface until it is approximately ¼ of an inch thick. Then using a cookie cutter or a glass, cut your circle shapes and press them into the bottoms of a lightly greased muffin tin.

Now to make the filling. Begin making the filling by whisking your eggs in a mixing bowl, then add in your milk, and season with salt and pepper. Carefully whisk to combine.

Next, add in your shredded cheese and all-purpose flour. Stir until combined. When adding other ingredients to your mini quiche, this is when you would add them. When your egg mixture is combined, pour your egg mixture into your prepared pie crust and fill each muffin tin until it is approximately ½ to ¾ full.

Costco Mini Quiche Cooking Directions

Preheat your oven to approximately 325°F. Once your mini quiches are assembled, place them into the oven and bake. As your mini quiches are baking, you may check on them periodically.

If your crust appears to be baking too fast you can try covering your mini quiche with aluminum foil. This will help prevent your crust from getting done before your eggs are baked.

How Long To Cook Costco Quiche

The amount of time it takes to cook your homemade mini quiche will vary depending upon your specific oven, and the size of your muffin tins. Typically, we will recommend setting your timer for approximately 15 minutes and then check on them every 10 to 15 minutes afterward. They should take between 20 to 35 minutes to fully be baked.

Homemade Costco Mini Quiche Recipe

Description

Making your own homemade version of Costco’s mini quiche is very easy to do. This recipe will walk you through the specific ingredients you need as well as step-by-step instructions you can follow to make your own homemade miniature quiche. Your finished product will taste so delicious and looks super cute you can use them for any occasion.

Ingredients

Crust

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/8 tsp salt

½ cup salted butter, very cold

¼ cup water, very cold

Quiche Filling

6 large eggs

2 cups whole milk

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp pepper

¾ tsp garlic powder

1 ½ Tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups shredded cheese

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 325°F

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, or food processor, add your flour and salt, mix together.  Cut your cold butter into small cubes and add to your flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter cut your mixture until you have very small clumps remaining. You can also use a food processor and pulse your mixture until you have approximately pea-sized clumps remaining.

Step 3

Add water that is very cold to your flour mixture and stir your mixture just until it begins to form a clump of dough. Roll the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll the dough to be approximately ¼ inch thick.

Step 4

Using a circle cookie cutter, or a round glass top, cut your crust into small circles, then place it into a lightly greased muffin tin. When all of the muffin tin openings have been filled with crust, set the tin aside.

Step 5

Now it’s time to make your filling. Into a mixing bowl add your eggs and whisk well. Then, add milk, salt, pepper, all-purpose flour, and shredded cheese. Stir to combine.

Step 6

Pour your egg filling into your prepared muffin tins and fill approximately ½ to ¾ full. Place into your oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes and then check on your mini quiche periodically until done. Remove from the oven and allow your quiche to cool slightly before serving. Then serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

To determine if your quiche are done, you can insert a toothpick into the center, and it should come out clean. If your toothpick does not come out clean, continue cooking your quiche until the center is set.

If the crust of your quiche seems to be cooking faster than the egg portion of your quiche, you can cover your quiche with aluminum foil and continue baking. This will prevent your crust from burning.

To store, we recommend transferring your baked mini quiche to an airtight container, or a sealable plastic bag. Then place your cooked mini quiche in the refrigerator and keep it no more than 3 to 4 days before they are enjoyed.

Freezer. You may also store your miniature quiche in the freezer if desired. Any quiche that has been fully baked, may be stored in an airtight container, or sealed in a plastic freezer bag then placed into the freezer. Mini quiche may be kept frozen for up to three months.

If a quiche has been stored at room temperature for any longer than two hours, it should be thrown out. Please also note that if it’s hot, the time that quiche lasts at room temperature maybe even less.

Three sets of cooking instructions are provided for the mini quiche:

Oven Heating
