Beef Chili

Share:

This mild Beef Chili is perfect for a cold winter’s day. You can get your comfort food fix from this hearty dish and come away feeling satisfied. It pairs great with a loaf of homemade cornbread and butter. Our preference is a very mildly flavored chili. However, if you prefer more heat in your chili, feel free to adjust the amount of chili powder and even consider adding some fresh chili peppers.

Instructions:

In a large sauté pan, thoroughly cook the ground beef.

Peel and chop carrots, mince onion, green pepper and garlic. Add vegetables to sauté pan and cook on medium low until tender.

Wash tomatoes and core them. Puree tomatoes in the blender or food processor, until you have created a nice tomato paste. This will serve as the chili base.

In a large soup pot, add the tomato puree and bring to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low and allow the puree to simmer until becoming thickened.

Add vegetables, beef and beans to the soup base. Continue to simmer on low heat. Add chili powder to season.
