To do this, your chicken skewers will be flavored with a mixture of lemon juice, garlic, and other seasonings such as paprika, thyme, oregano, onion, salt, and pepper.

Cost

The cost of Costco’s chicken skewers may vary, however, you can typically depend on it costing at least $12 and up. Making your own chicken skewers can easily be done and you’ll be in it for significantly less money. The exact cost will depend on your location, and what type of chicken you choose to use.

Convenience

Making your own grilled chicken skewers is surprisingly easy to do and very convenient. You can have chicken skewers ready from start to finish in a matter of minutes as long as you are using thawed chicken. Chicken skewers are all around a very convenient food to grill.

Mediterranean Chicken Kebab Marinade

Marinating your chicken skewers is a very important step. Before you begin assembling your chicken on the skewers, it is important to marinate them.

To do this, cut your chicken into small pieces and place it into a bowl. Into the bowl also add your olive oil, lemon juice, onion powder, minced garlic, thyme, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Gently toss to mix the seasonings to fully coat the chicken. While the chicken is marinating, place the entire mixture in the refrigerator.

How To Make Grilled Mediterranean Chicken Kebabs

After an hour or two has passed, you can begin assembling your skewers with your marinated chicken. To do this, you’ll want to soak your wooden skewers for at least 30 minutes in water. This will prevent them from burning.

Next, take your marinated chicken and place them onto your skewers. You may alternate the pieces of chicken with vegetables if desired, otherwise, you can simply just use chicken. When your chicken is on the skewers you can get ready to grill. Preheat your grill, then place your skewers on your grill and cook until the juices run clear and your internal temperature reaches 165°F.

How Long Do I Cook Chicken Kebabs On The Grill

The amount of cooking time for your kebabs will depend on the temperature of your grill and how big your pieces of chicken are. Typically, it will take between 10 and 20 minutes for your chicken skewers to fully cook.

How Do I Know If The Chicken Is Cooked

A good way to tell if your chicken is cooked or not is to use an instant-read thermometer. The internal temperature of your chicken should reach 165°F for your chicken to be fully cooked. You can also keep an eye on your chicken and see if the juices have run clear, if they have that’s another sign that your chicken is done.

What If You Don’t Have A Grill?

You might say that this is all well and good, but what if you don’t have a grill? Never fear, you can also cook chicken skewers in your oven if you do not have access to a grill.

How To Cook Chicken Kabobs In The Oven

To cook chicken skewers in your oven you first want to line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil. It’s also a good idea to spray your aluminum foil with cooking spray so that the chicken does not stick to it.

Then, lay your chicken skewers on your cookie sheet and bake at 425°F for 10 minutes, then turn your chicken skewers over before baking for another 10 minutes. Check the internal temperature of your chicken to see if it’s done, before removing and enjoying.

When your marinating chicken is almost ready, and your skewers are soaked, it’s time to preheat your grill. Whatever kind of grill you choose to use, turn it on and allow it to warm.

Step 4: Grill Skewers

Now to get your kebabs ready. Take your skewers and place your chicken and the skewers very carefully. Next, take your chicken skewers and place them on the grill. Keep a close eye on them as they will cook quickly. Cook for 5 to 8 minutes on one side before returning to cook the other side of your chicken skewers.

When they start to look done, check the internal temperature to be sure it has reached 165°F. You can also watch to be sure that your juices from the chicken are running clear. Brush your chicken with additional olive oil, or Italian dressing, remove from the grill and serve. Enjoy!
