Additional Fiesta Pizza Toppings

When making pizza, it is fun to custom make your own according to your favorite toppings. Here are some additional toppings that we think go well on Fiesta Pizza or on the side:

Salsa

If using salsa as a mix-in with the sour cream and cream cheese sauce, scale back on the amount of sour cream to about half, to help minimize the amount of liquid.

Beans

Black beans, kidney beans or refried beans make a great topping or work well as a side dish. Who doesn’t like beans when we’re talking about delicious Mexican cuisine?

Guacamole

Ah yes, the wonderful flavor of avocados simply sliced or made into a hearty serving of guacamole always pairs well with Fiesta pizza. Use it as a topping or as a side of dip. Either way is delicious.

Black Olives

To us, black olives are the perfect add-on for anything relating to a Mexican fiesta, whether it be pizza or tacos or salad or whatever the dish.

Peppers

The addition of green or red peppers as a topping help to keep the colors and flavors rolling. Try adding them and see what you think. Or if you’re someone who likes heat, the addition of jalapeños might be just the right thing.

Fiesta Pizza Variations

There is always more than one way to get to the desired outcome. And that holds true for this recipe too. If you’re cooking on the weekend and don’t have plans to go to the store for a few days, you might be able to compromise and pull off a recipe variation. Here are some ideas:

Crust

Instead of using tubes of crescent rolls, you can use tubes of biscuits just as well. Or even using pizza crust is a good alternate solution.

Sauce

In the cream cheese and sour cream sauce, try adding a hint of sriracha sauce or hot sauce for some added strength to the flavors.

How to Make Easy Fiesta Pizza

The process of making this Easy Fiesta Pizza Recipe can be completed in less than 30 minutes from start to finish. That’s why it is the perfect all occasion appetizer. Or at our house we’ve been known to eat it as the main dish a time or two. It is quite filling. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients

2 tubes Crescent Rolls
1 8 oz package Cream Cheese
8 oz Sour Cream
1 tsp Garlic Salt
1 lb Ground Beef
2 cups Shredded Mexican Cheese
1 cup Cherry Tomatoes
2 cups shredded Iceberg Lettuce
2 tbsp Taco Seasoning

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375F.

2. On a greased baking sheet, unroll and spread out 2 tubes of crescent rolls. Pinch seams together.

3. Bake for 6-8 minutes at 375F until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool.

4. Meanwhile, place ground beef in a frying pan and cooked until browned and no pink is showing. Add taco seasoning and mix well.

5. Mix together cream cheese, sour cream and garlic salt until thoroughly blended. Confirm that the crescent roll crust has completely cooled before spreading the cream cheese sauce mixture. If it has not cooled, allow it to do so before adding the sauce or the sauce will melt and the crust will become soggy.

6. Begin assembling the pizza. Spread the cream cheese sauce mixture over the crust. Then, sprinkle with the warm ground beef. Add shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and shredded cheese.

And as always, enjoy!

How to Reheat Fiesta Pizza

Fiesta pizza can be reheated very briefly in the microwave or the oven. Be careful to heat in short stints of time so as to avoid wilting the lettuce.

How to Store Fiesta Pizza

Fiesta pizza can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 days. We do not recommend freezing it because of the lettuce and tomato toppings as those do not freeze well.
