In a medium skillet, add your sausage, water, and a drizzle of olive oil. Cover and cook over medium heat until the sausage is completely cooked. Once cooked, drain grease into a fresh skillet.
In your fresh skillet with the sausage grease, add butter and cook over low heat until melted. Sprinkle flour and stir until no lumps remain.
Now it is time to add your milk to the sauce. Stir until milk mixes in with your butter and flour mixture. Make sure there are no lumps remaining.
Your gravy is basically created now. Pour your cooked sausage into your milk mixture and stir it together. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Allow for your gravy mixture to simmer on low for a few more minutes, stirring occasionally. You will notice that it begins to thicken. Remove from burner and top your biscuits. Serve and enjoy!
