Begin by opening your role of puff pastry. Once open and smooth flat, we recommend using a pizza cutter to slice your puff pastry into an even number of rectangles. Find that you will need two rectangles to make one toaster strudel.
When you have your shapes cut, take your jam or jelly and spread it on ½ of your toaster strudel sides. Make sure that you may have approximately ½ inch around the edge of your rectangle to press it together. If desired you can also add some softened cream cheese down the center of your puff pastry rectangle as well.
Brush around the half-inch space without fillings, with a dab of water. You can use a wet finger as long as it is clean, or a brush. You want just enough water to make it moist, but not enough to cause it to pool.
Now, when you have one side with the fillings, and one side just plain puff pastry, take the plain side and set it on top of your field side.
Use a fork to press the edges together.
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (177°C).
Use a spatula to move your prepared toaster strudels from your work surface into the air fryer basket once your air fryer is preheated.
Replace the basket and bake for 5 to 8 minutes, flipping halfway through your air fry time.
Remove them from the air fryer when they are cooked to your liking.
Allow them to rest for a few minutes.
While they are resting, in a small mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until no lumps remain to make the icing.
Drizzle your icing on top of your air fried homemade toaster strudels, then serve right away and enjoy!
