Melt the butter in a large non-stick sauté pan, on the stove, over high heat. Add the onion and sauté for about 3 minutes, or until soft.
Slice the cabbage and add to the pan. Add the salt, pepper, vinegar and water. Stir with a large spoon and reduce the heat to medium. Cover and simmer until until the cabbage begins to soften, about 12 minutes. Add additional salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy Braised Cabbage!
