Make Dough: Heat milk so that it is lukewarm in temperature. In a mixing bowl combine sugar, salt, and yeast. Add the milk and stir to dissolve the yeast. Let the mixture sit for approximately five minutes, or until it begins to form. Add melted butter, egg, and flour. Stir well. Coat mixing bowl with a drizzle of olive oil, and form down into a ball. Cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise for at least one hour, or until double in size.
Make Filling: In a mixing bowl, add cream cheese, chicken, milk, flour, garlic, shredded cheese, optional onion, and chives. Stir to combine.
Divide Dough: When the dough has risen to double in size, punch it down, and divide it into two balls.
Roll Dough: Taking the first go ball, roll it out flat. Take a pizza cutter, and cut from the outside to the inside approximately 2 to 3 inches.
Heat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Fill Dough: When your dough has been rolled out, place your chicken filling down the center of your dough. Next, take the slices that were cut with a pizza cutter, and fold them toward the center into a braided look.
Brush With Egg: Brush the top of your bread with an egg wash of one egg yolk mixed with 2 tablespoons of water. Be sure to cover the entire loaf of bread with the egg wash. Sprinkle with sesame seeds immediately if desired.
Bake: Bake at 400°F for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown, and a toothpick inserted into the bread comes out clean.
Butter While Hot: Remove the bread from the oven, and brush with melted butter.
Serve: Serve your loaf of bread while hot. Enjoy!
