In a mixing bowl, add warm water. It should be between 90 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Be sure that your water is not too warm or too cold before moving on. Add in your instant yeast and sugar. Mix just until the yeast is dissolved. Allow mixture to sit for 5 minutes. After this time has passed, it will have increased in size and become foamy.
After 5 minutes, add vegetable oil, salt, egg, and flour. Do not mix until all of the ingredients have been added, and then mix until combined. The dough should begin to gather on your beater. Turn the mixer off, remove the dough, and coat bowl with oil. Place the dough back into the bowl and form into a ball.
Place the dough on your counter, cover with a damp towel and allow to rise for 15 minutes.
Remove the towel and punch the dough down. Divide into two balls and shape dough into two long loves. Place your dough onto a lightly greased baking pan and cut diagonal slits across the top of each loaf.
Preheat your oven to 375°F. While the oven is preheating, allow your dough to rise. Once your oven has reached 375°F, immediately place your loves into the oven and bake for 23 to 25 minutes. Note: You do not want to allow your loaves to rise too long as they will overproof.
Once a toothpick comes out clean, remove loves from your oven. Prepare an egg wash by combining one egg white with 1 Tablespoon water, mixing, and brushing the top of each loaf with egg wash. Bake for an additional 3 to 5 minutes
Remove from oven, and place pan on a wire rack to cool. Allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serving your delicious, warm bread. Enjoy!
