In mixing bowl, add yeast, sugar and ¼ cup warm water. Mix together until yeast is dissolved, then let sit for 5 minutes or until mixture becomes foamy.
After yeast mixture becomes foamy, add in flour, salt, olive oil and room temperature water. Mix together. Start on low speed and slowly move to medium speed. NOTE: Do not mix together until ALL of the ingredients are added in this step. Your dough will not come out right, if you mix earlier.
Mix dough together until a ball of dough forms, about five minutes total.
Shape dough into a ball. Coat a medium sized bowl with olive oil, place the dough ball in coated bowl.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place in warm area until the size doubles, about 1 hour.
Once doubled in size, remove plastic wrap and punch the dough down. Shape it back into a ball.
If you are using the dough later, you can now place it in a container and cover with plastic wrap. You will want to use the dough within 12 hours. Pull dough out and let warm at room temperature 30 minutes before using.
Spray your pan with cooking spray. Stretch the dough out on your baking pan to a 14-inch round pizza shape.
Bake crust alone at 400 degrees for 8 minutes or until starts to turn gold.
Add your pizza sauce, cheese and toppings. Top with any desired seasonings.
Bake until the crust is golden, and the center is no longer doughy. Bake at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. Cut pizza into slices and serve. Enjoy!
Notes
Depending how thick you prefer it makes enough for one thicker 14-inch pizza or two fairly thin 12-inch pizzas.
