In a large pot, bring water, and a splash of oil to a boil. Once boiling, add macaroni and stir. Cook the noodles over low to medium heat until they become soft. Once soft, drain the water using a strainer and set back on the burner over lowest heat possible.
Add in your milk and butter. Stir over low heat until the butter is melted. Add cheese and continue to stir until cheese melts. Pour into a greesed baking dish.
To create the topping, in a bowl, add bread crumbs, melted butter and mix together. Add garlic salt and stir together. Sprinkle on top of macaroni and cheese. Add bacon bits sprinkled to the top. Bake at 350F for 20 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Serve while hot and enjoy!
