Smell. If your hummus has a strange smell such as a sour odor or if it smells off at all, throw it away and don’t eat it.
Mold. If your hummus has accumulated mold, that is a sign that it has gone bad. Throw it away and don’t risk eating it.
Strange consistency. If your hummus has a strange consistency, such as if it has become chunky or if it becomes watery, throw it away.
Discolored. If your hummus becomes discolored, chances are it has gone bad.
