To make these delicious breakfast meatballs, start by taking your thawed pork sausage and adding it to a mixing bowl. Add egg, breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and fennel seeds. Then mix until all of the ingredients are combined.
Next, roll the meatballs into circles that are approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inch in diameter.
Now, there are a few different ways you can cook meatballs. Our preference is to bake them in the oven, but you could also fry them in a skillet on your stovetop, or even air fry them if desired. Please select your desired cooking method below.
Baked Breakfast Meatballs
To bake your meatballs, arrange them on a rimmed cookie sheet with space in between each of the meatballs.
Preheat the oven to 375°F
Add your prepared meatballs and bake for approximately 20-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of your meatballs reaches at least 145°F.
When your meatballs are fully cooked, remove them from the oven, then serve them alongside your breakfast favorites, and enjoy!
How to Cook Meatballs in a Pan
You can also cook the prepared pork sausage meatballs on the stovetop in a pan if you prefer. To do this, drizzle some oil on the bottom of your pan.
Then add the prepared meatballs and cover the pan with a lid.
Cook over medium-high heat, turning occasionally until your meatballs reach at least an internal temperature of 145°F for the pork to be safe to consume.
Once your meatballs are fully cooked, serve them alongside your favorite breakfast foods and enjoy!
How to Air Fry Raw Breakfast Meatballs
You can also air fry the raw sausage breakfast meatballs if desired. To do this preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
Once preheated add your prepared raw meatballs to the air fryer basket in a single layer with space in between.
Close the air fryer and cook for 12-15 minutes. Check on the meatballs and be sure they have reached a minimum internal temperature of 145°F before consumption.
Once they are fully cooked, remove them from your air fryer, serve and enjoy.
