Step 2: Ham and Cheese Filling
In a mixing bowl, add your eggs and whisk until fully combined. Add milk, cheese, green onions, and ham. Whisk to combine. Pour your filling over your pre-cooked crust. Season with salt and pepper as desired. Place in the oven and bake at 400°F for 30-40 minutes, or until your eggs are completely cooked in the center. Serve and enjoy!
Cook’s Tips:
Sometimes it can be difficult to get the center of your bar to fully bake. If you are having difficulty with the edges getting too dark, and the center not getting done. Try covering your eggs with foil and continuing to bake. This will help prevent the edges from turning brown before the center is done.

Recipe Variations
There are several different ways that you can make ham and cheese bars to enjoy. The most popular variation of ham and cheese bars is covered first, then other variations following later.
Hormel, Breakfast Combos Bar, Ham Egg Cheese
Copycat Hormel breakfast bar made from ham, eggs, and cheese is the most popular ham and cheese bars that are often sought out on the internet. While Hormel sells them in large quantities, typically only commercial places are able to obtain them. However, there are ways you can make your own copycat bars to be very much like these.
Where Does It Come From
These bars are typically only available for purchase from distributors such as Sysco. However, there is a way you can make your own, at home.
What Kind of Ham and Cheese
To make these copycat bars at home you will need to have some ham and cheese on hand. You may use any kind of ham you prefer. As long as it is fully cooked, and thawed, it will work well. The cheese you will need to be a little pickier about. The cheese that works the best will be a melty kind of cheddar cheese. Cheeses like Velveeta will work out great.
Breading and Batter
These bars have a kind of breading on the outside. To accomplish this texture, you will want to use a coating of flour, eggs, and bread crumbs.
Breakfast Combo Bar Ingredients
To make these copycat bars you will need the following ingredients.
18 eggs, scrambled and pre-cooked
¾ cup ham, diced
½ cup liquid cheese (Velveeta)
3 Tbsp heavy cream or milk
½ cup all-purpose flour
3 eggs
4 ½ Tbsp water
½ cup breadcrumbs
¾ cup panko
The Best Breakfast Combo Bar
To make this delicious breakfast bar combo, you are going to want to start off by melting your cheese and scrambling your eggs. To cook your eggs, melt some butter in a pan over medium heat. Then add your eggs. Scramble your eggs, and cook until done.
Add your finely diced ham to the pan, and stir to combine. Add melted cheese to your egg and ham mixture, and combine.
Next, take a cookie sheet and spray it with cooking spray. Then take a round cookie cutter and place it on your pan. Fill it with your egg mixture and press. Repeat the process for each patty you want to make. Place your pressed eggs into the freezer until they are fully frozen, this will take an hour or two. Once frozen, place them first into your flour, then dip into an egg wash, finally coat in breadcrumbs and panko. Then deep fry in oil until they are golden brown on each side.
Cheesy Macaroni With Ham
Another great variation to this recipe is to make some delicious cheesy macaroni with ham mixed in. To make some amazing macaroni I enjoy cooking my pasta (about 3 cups raw) until it is al dente. Then drain the liquid and add about ¾ cup of milk, ¼ cup butter, diced ham, and about 2 cups melted cheddar cheese (I like to use the can of cheddar cheese sauce from Sam’s Club) stir it all together over low heat until your butter is melted. If you want you can also add a little of the mozzarella cheese or melty swiss cheese slices. Then add salt and pepper to taste.
Ham and Cheese Granola Bar
Making a ham and cheese granola bar is very simple and makes for a fast lunch or snack on the go. You simply take one granola bar, and top it with a couple of slices of deli ham, then add a slice of your favorite cheese on top. Finish it off by adding a little mustard, or mayonnaise to the top, and you have a simple yet tasty meal on the go.
Creamy Ham and Cheese Quiche
To make a ham and cheese quiche you will want to prepare a pie crust. Then prepare your filling by taking about 8 eggs and whisking them together. Next, add in some chopped spinach or zucchini, followed by diced ham, cheese, and milk. Add salt and pepper to taste, then pour your mixture into your prepared pie crust. You will want to bake it for 60-80 minutes at 375°F.
Veggie, Ham & Cheese Breakfast Bars
To make ham and cheese bars that also include veggies, you will want to prepare the recipe as directed above, only you will also want to add a large green pepper that has been diced, a large red pepper that has been diced, one small onion that is diced, and top it off with one tomato that is also diced. Bake according to the above instructions above. Because of all the added vegetables, you may want to add two more eggs, and pour your filling into a 9×13 pan to bake instead of an 8×8.
Mini Ham and Cheese Roll-Ups
Making mini ham and cheese roll-up are another fun way to mix things up with a very easy recipe. To make these you will simply want to open a tube of crescent rolls and separate them into the pre-cut shapes. On top of the bread dough, place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese. Roll them into crescent shapes and bake according to package instructions. Enjoy while warm.
Spicy Ham and Cheese Squares
If you like a bit of spice to your food, try simply adding some red pepper flakes to the above recipe. Then if you are feeling like you want quite a bit of spice, you can always dice up some of your favorite hot peppers and include them in the egg mixture. Bake as directed above. You can also try adding a bit of hot sauce to your finished bars as well.
Amazing Ham and Bacon Bars
Another great way you can change up the above recipe is to simply add bacon. I mean, it is difficult to go wrong when including extra bacon in anything. Try cooking up some bacon, chopping it into chunks, and adding it to your bars for extra flavor and deliciousness.
