unsalted butter
dark brown sugar
Bartlett pears
crème fraîche
sliced almonds
serve with ice cream

Roasted Pears With Caramel, Creme Fraiche And Pistachios

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400F.

Place the butter in a large baking dish and heat the dish in the oven until the butter is melted.

After the butter is melted, add the sugar and stir well to combine. Prepare the pears by rinsing them and then slicing them in half. Place the pear halves, cut side down, in the sugar and butter mixture. Bake the pears until they’re almost tender, 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and turn the pears over. Return to oven and roast 5 more minutes with the cut side up.

Reserve the pan sauce. Place the pears in serving bowls and top with a spoonful of crème fraîche. Sprinkle with the chopped almonds, and drizzle with the remaining pan sauce before serving. Serve with ice cream.
