Following is the easy recipe for the delicious coffee loaf cake. We outlined the step-by-step instructions for making it.

Equipment
Following is the suggested equipment to make this recipe.

Ingredients
Topping
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
3 tbsp brown sugar
¼ tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp butter
3 tbsp chopped pecans or walnuts
Bread
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 ½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup melted butter
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
Instructions
Grease a large loaf pan and set aside.
Prepare the topping by mixing together these dry ingredients. In a small bowl stir together flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs begin to form. Stir in nuts. Set cinnamon-sugar mixture aside.
In a separate bowl, prepare the cake batter by stirring together dry ingredients including, flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.

Add melted butter or room temperature butter and mix on low speed.
Add wet ingredients of egg and buttermilk to flour mixture. Stir just until moistened and batter is still lumpy.
Add half the batter to the loaf pan. Top with half of the crumb mixture.
Add the remaining batter and top with the remaining topping.
Bake at 400F degrees for 50 minutes baking time, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serve warm and enjoy.

If you’d like a sweet touch to top off your coffee loaf cake, you can make a simple glaze using icing sugar and milk. To make some, mix ½ cup powdered sugar with a few drops of milk. Stir until well mixed. Apply the glaze to the top of the cake.
