We are so excited to show you one of our absolute favorite recipes for making frozen green beans in the air fryer. This recipe is super easy to do, and it allows you to make green beans that taste amazing. 

Let’s start right now by looking at what ingredients we recommend you include to make this delicious recipe.

Air Fryer Green Beans Ingredients

Frozen green beans. Our favorite type of green beans to use is extra fine green beans from the freezer section at Aldi.

You can use any other type of frozen green beans that you prefer, but we do recommend that you use the whole bean, rather than using a type of cut green beans. Keep in mind they also need to be frozen. 

Olive oil. Our favorite way to prepare them is to toss the frozen green beans in olive oil before cooking them. You may substitute olive oil for another type of oil such as avocado oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, or even peanut oil. 

Garlic salt. To season the green beans, we like to sprinkle them with basic garlic salt. Our favorite garlic salt is a mixture of garlic salt with parsley in it.

You can use any type of garlic salt mixture to flavor your frozen green beans, this is simply our preference.

How to Cook Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans

Make your frozen green beans in the air fryer, begin by removing your package of frozen green beans from the freezer. Cut it open and pour the frozen green beans into a mixing bowl. 

Drizzle with olive oil, and season with your garlic salt. Toss until the green beans are coated in both olive oil and garlic salt. 

Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Once coated, pour your green bean mixture into the air fryer basket. Replace the basket into your preheated air fryer and cook for approximately 5 to 6 minutes. 

Then open the air fryer basket and toss the beans, replacing the basket. Continue cooking for another 2 to 4 minutes until the beans are done to your liking.

How Long To Cook Frozen Green Beans?

How long you wish to cook your frozen vegetables may vary depending on your air fryer, and if you are cooking whole or cut beans. We recommend cooking whole beans in the air fryer at 375°F for approximately 7 to 9 minutes.

Please note that we are using an instant mini air fryer, so it is smaller than most. If you were using a larger air fryer, you may need to add a few more minutes to the air fry time. 

How to Cook Frozen Crispy Green Beans in the Air Fryer

If you like your air fryer green beans to be extra crispy, then you can simply bake them for a few more minutes, or you can increase your air fryer temperature, and cook them for the same amount of time.

Either way will give you a crispier green bean. A word of caution, make sure you keep a close eye on your green beans as they cook in your air fryer so that they do not become burnt. 

Cooking Time and Temperature

350°F (177°C) – 9 to 12 minutes total (shaking halfway)

375°F (190°C) – 8 to 10 minutes total (shaking halfway)

400°F (204°C) – 7 to 9 minutes total (shaking halfway)

425°F (218°C) – 6 to 8 minutes total (shaking halfway)

Tips for Cooking Frozen Green Beans in the Air Fryer

Use Frozen. We recommend you air fry here frozen green beans while they are still frozen. By this we mean remove them from your freezer right before you wish to air fry them. 

Check on Often. Our cook times mentioned above are estimates, and we recommend that you check on your green beans often so they cook perfectly.

We always recommend that you set the cooking time for slightly less than you think they will need, then add more time as needed. This way you get to enjoy food that is air fried perfectly. 

Ideas for Other Flavor Variations

Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans with Parmesan

Another flavor variation we can enjoy with your recipe is to make them with Parmesan cheese. You can use freshly grated Parmesan cheese sprinkled with your green beans. Then prepare as instructed above, and air fry. 

Frozen Green Beans in Oven

If you would like, are easy and delicious frozen green bean recipe can also be prepared in the oven. To make it in the oven preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C).

Then spread your frozen green beans in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until your green beans are done to your liking. 

Storage And Reheating Instructions:

How To Store. We recommend storing any leftover air fryer green beans in the fridge. Transfer the green beans to an airtight container or seal them in a plastic storage bag. Keep in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. 

How To Reheat. The best way to reheat leftover green beans is in the air fryer. Simply place them back into your air fryer basket, and air fry at 375°F for 8 minutes or until they are reheated.

How To Freeze. You can refreeze your green beans after they have been cooked in the air fryer if desired. While they are best enjoyed fresh, you can refreeze them by sealing them in a plastic freezer bag and placing them into the freezer for up to three months.

What Temperature Do You Cook Frozen Vegetables in the Air Fryer?

You can cook vegetables in the air fryer from temperatures between 325°F all the way up to 425°F. Our favorite is to cook vegetables at either 375°F or 400°F. This allows the vegetables to cook nicely without burning. 

Do You Need to Thaw the Green Beans Before Cooking Them?

No, we recommend that you do not thaw green beans before they are cooked in your air fryer. You’ll get a better result when they are air fried directly from your freezer.
